The Problem
A customer needed multiple pre-owned Caron environmental chambers installed and brought into service. Because the units arrived in unknown condition, the project required more than basic placement and connection. The chambers needed utility integration, drainage setup, functional testing, and repair of issues discovered during startup.
Installation Review
Initial inspection showed that the existing water supply and drainage configuration was not compatible with the required chamber setup. The chambers were also missing proper provisions for external drain pumps, which are important for controlled removal of condensate and wastewater during operation.
Drainage System Repair
ScientifiCo installed new water and sewer lines and integrated external pumps according to the chamber requirements. During testing, a broken water inlet was found on one unit, and two chambers had significant internal drain-line blockages that prevented condensation from flowing correctly.
Chemical descaling was attempted, but the blockages were too severe. The affected drain lines were removed and manually cleaned so the chambers could drain properly during operation.
Humidity Control
After drainage was restored, one chamber still could not reach humidity setpoints. Component-level checks identified compromised atomizers, which were replaced to restore humidity generation and control.
Verification
Final testing confirmed stable operation across the chambers. Preventive maintenance was also completed, including cleaning, filter checks, and replacement of required components.
Result
The environmental chambers were installed, repaired, and stabilized for routine use. The systems were returned to operational condition and prepared for qualification.
