The Problem
Several PerkinElmer EnVision microplate readers had lost reliable communication with their control software. Two readers recovered after their cable links and software properties were corrected, but an EnVision 2103 continued to show operating and data-saving errors that required deeper electronic diagnostics.
Logic Board Diagnostics
Internal inspection found moisture-related corrosion and damaged electrical paths on the main logic board near the cooling area. The board was removed, cleaned, and inspected under magnification to identify compromised PCB traces and connections.
Board-Level Repair
ScientifiCo restored the corrosion-damaged trace routes and affected electrical paths with board-level rework and jumper connections. After repair, the reader powered on, connected to the control software, and responded across multiple hardware functions.
Sensor and Configuration Repair
A remaining save-results error was isolated to a failed internal temperature sensor in the cooling assembly. Replacing the sensor cleared the database save loop. The logic-board configuration was then corrected in the PerkinElmer software so the repaired electronics and instrument configuration matched.
Result
The EnVision reader returned to normal operation after its damaged PCB traces, temperature feedback, communication settings, and board configuration were restored. The repair recovered both instrument control and normal result-saving behavior.
