We serviced two Agilent G2565CA microarray scanners after the customer reported an Agilent microarray scanner autofocus error during slide scanning, along with intermittent color distortion, focus instability, and image discoloration on one of the units.

During diagnostics, the affected scanner initially passed routine preventive maintenance checks, but the fault appeared later in operation. We first replaced the autofocus coil cable, but the issue continued after several hours of use. Further service focused on the autofocus system itself, including inspection and repair of the AF mechanism and replacement of the AF coil driver. The scanner was then monitored and tested further until performance stabilized. In parallel, preventive maintenance and operational qualification were completed on the second scanner.

A separate issue was later reported on the second scanner involving an intermittent On/Off button problem. Incoming power to the instrument was confirmed, and the power switch together with its connecting cable were replaced based on the reported symptoms. After service, both scanners were fully tested, the autofocus issue was resolved, and the maintenance and qualification work was completed successfully.
